Texas Barbecue Sauce2 | Tbsp. | brown sugar | 1 | Tbsp. | paprika | 1 | tsp. | salt | 1 | tsp. | dry mustard | 1/4 | tsp. | chili powder | 1/8 | tsp. | cayenne pepper | 2 | Tbsp. | Worcestershire sauce | 1/4 | c. | vinegar | 1 | c. | tomato juice | 1/4 | c. | ketchup | 1/2 | c. | water |
1. | Combine all ingredients in a sauce pan and simmer 15 minutes or until slightly thickened. | 2. | You can also thicken the sauce with a corn starch slurry: add a mixture of cornstarch and water and bring the sauce to barely a boil to get rid of the starch taste. | (from Megan Harr) |
