Synopsis: The Quileutes close in on expecting parents Edward and Bella, whose unborn child poses a threat to the Wolf Pack and the towns people of Forks.

Reaction: The book should not have been split into two movies. That being said, if you liked the book, this one is a fair representation of this part of the story. It's just way too slowly paced.

Personal Rating: 7/10

Random Trivia For This Title:

  • Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner had difficulty not laughing while filming the birthing scenes, specifically when they had to try and bring Bella (Kristen Stewart) back to life.
  • Bella's body was prosthetic from the shoulders down in the birthing scene. There was an opening in the table so Kristen Stewart could comfortably lay down underneath the table top while still allowing her head and shoulders to be visible. To achieve movement of the prosthetic limbs a puppeteer was also under the table controlling the limbs.
  • Kristen Stewart said Taylor Lautner was in tears when the cast watched an unfinished cut.
  • The infamous sex scene (which is actually only 40 seconds long) between Edward and Bella originally caused the film to receive an R rating by the MPAA. The scene had to be edited to receive a PG-13 rating. Interrestingly, Kristen Stewart has said in an interview that filming Bella and Edward's honeymoon sex scene was very awkward, and that by the end of the shoot, she didn't even feel like they had just filmed a passionate scene.
  • A puppet and a real three-week old baby were used for the birth scene. Strawberry jam and cream cheese were mixed and used to simulate blood on the newborn.
  • It took three hours to apply all the necessary make-up effects to Kristen Stewart to create Bella's emaciated physical appearance. Effects that couldn't be achieved with make-up were created digitally in post-production. There are over 1400 special effects shots in the film. Most of which were used on Kristen Stewart to achieve Bella's pregnancy appearance.
