`~John Doe~`
Edit cast list for:
WandaVision (2021)?
Trivia:
The original script for the episode contained an appearance from `~13962~` as Doctor Strange and was to have explained that the commercials on the show were Strange's attempts to break through the sitcom reality and contact Wanda, but this was cut out of fear that it would take away focus from Wanda. SPOILER:It is implied that Wanda was a witch her whole life, as Agatha states that young Wanda used a probability hex to see if the bomb would go off. Agatha also calls young Wanda "baby witch" and states that the infinity stone "amplified what, otherwise, would've died on the vine" (her powers possibly fading away had she not used them). This gives more details as to Wanda's origin story told in !~avengers_ultron~!~Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015)~!, where it is explained that Pietro and Wanda got their powers from experiments with the Mind Stone. Now, it is revealed that the Stone awakened and boosted Wanda's natural abilities, and that Pietro's speed was possibly something he had already possessed, too.:SPOILER SPOILER:This is the first time in the MCU that Wanda is referred to by her comic book name "The Scarlet Witch".:SPOILER SPOILER:The interviewer who speaks to Wanda is voiced by a pitch-shifted `~12675~`.:SPOILER SPOILER:The song featured at the end of the episode is literally titled @#"It Was ______ All Along."#@ The blank space is part of the title.:SPOILER In Wanda's favorite episode of ^~dickvandyke_v~^~The Dick Van Dyke Show (1961)~^, @#"It May Look Like a Walnut"#@, Robert Petrie is having a nightmare and wants to wake up. The Nexus pharmaceutical ad ties to the Marvel comics. Nexus beings are individual entities unique to all multiverse and can affect probability and thus the future, thereby altering the flow of the Universal Time Stream. Wanda Maximoff is a nexus being in the comics. SPOILER:The Coronet Theatre in Westview is showing !~incredibles~!~The Incredibles (2004)~! and @%The Parent Trap (1998)%@. Both are Disney properties, with plots which mirror aspects of the ^~wandavision~^~WandaVision~^ experience, i.e. a "secret" superhero family with a child speedster and twins.:SPOILER `~6990~` has revealed in an interview with `~4719~` that the "kick-ass!" lines were not intentionally a reference to both Quicksilver actors starring in the superhero movie of the same name. It was just a coincidence that fans noticed. SPOILER:`~Kevin Feige~` responded to a question regarding everyone reappearing from the original blip. For example, if people were mid-air during the blip, would they just fall when they came back? Feige responded saying that Professor Hulk would account for this and make sure each person would return safely. This would explain someone rematerializing in a safe environment and not dropping from the sky or even exactly where they were standing, sitting, etc. In the beginning of the episode, each person seems to be returning just out of everyone's way, more or less.:SPOILER One of the local cops calls Agent Woo a "G-Man," slang for FBI Agent. In the Marvel comic books, Jimmy Woo was a member of the superhero team "G-Men," also known as "Department Zero," later renamed "Agents of Atlas." The shirt worn by Wanda when she's sitting on the swing during the opening credits is the same one `~10744~` wore in !~bttf_1~!~Back to the Future (1985)~! as Stella Baines (Lorraine's mother). This item is part of the American Costumes warehouse and is still being rented out to be used in films and TV series. It carries label number 1538 which has the name F. McCain on it. The manner in which Wanda attempts to hide her visible pregnancy from Geraldine, with baggy clothes (the oversized coat) and by holding obstructive objects (the fruit bowl), may be a reference to the common practice in television, wherein a pregnant actress whose character is not pregnant hides visible signs of the pregnancy, using similar methods. In the title sequence, the pictures are presented in hexagons. In Scarlet Witch's early comic years, her powers were stated to be "hex powers" that could cause random and unlikely events to take place. This enabled creative freedom to the writers, as it actually meant that her powers could be used for any purpose required by the plot. SPOILER:The television ad displays a Strücker watch bearing the Hydra name and logo on its face. Baron von Strücker is behind Hydra and he experimented on Wanda and her brother.:SPOILER Vision not knowing what the company actually does is a reference to the many undefined jobs sitcom (and radio show) husbands had for decades. Not only was "the boss is coming to dinner" a standard plot in sitcoms until the 1960s, it was also a plot of comedy radio shows before television. The wife not knowing was almost always a part of the set-up as well. This episode actually was filmed at Pinewood Atlanta Studios before a live studio audience. SPOILER:The talent show is being held "for the children," which becomes a repeated phrase, yet there is not a single child to be seen in all of Westview.:SPOILER SPOILER:Agatha All Along is a homage to the theme songs from @##The Munsters (1964)##@ and ^~addams_series~^~The Addams Family (1964)~^.:SPOILER SPOILER:Wanda's voice saying "Previously on ^~wandavision~^~WandaVision~^" at the beginning of each episode gets progressively less cheerful each time.:SPOILER SPOILER:`~14819~`, `~7472~` and `~12675~` are the only cast members to appear in all nine episodes.:SPOILER Only 3 episodes have post-credit scenes. The 7th and 8th got one post-credit scene each and the final episode (9th) got two. According to director `~6990~`, the original plan was to release the first three episodes of the series all at once, but due to COVID-19-related post-production delays the schedule was modified as the production team needed an extra week to complete work on the final episode. The theater marquee reads "Tannhauser Gate", a reference to !~bladerunner~!~Blade Runner~!. Both !~bladerunner~!~Blade Runner~! and ^~wandavision~^~WandaVision~^ involve the question of the true nature or humanity of an artificially created humanoid. The budget for each episode was reported to be as much as $25 million which makes it the most expensive television series in history, beating @%The Pacific (2010)%@ which had a budget of $21.7 million per episode. In the Marvel Cinematic Universe, S.W.O.R.D. stands for Sentient Weapon Observation Response Division. In the comics, it stands for Sentient World Observation Response Department. The change refers to observing Wanda and the Vision, who are sentient weapons. However, !~spider_fromhome~!~Spider-Man: Far from Home (2019)~! displayed Nick Fury operating in space at a S.W.O.R.D. base. In episode two when Wanda walks from the kitchen to the living room she walks by the stairs. For just a second you can see a faded mural on the wall. You can see the building/castle on a hill that Strucker was using in Sokovia when the Avengers stormed it and first met the Maximoff twins. `~6990~` cites the alternate reality films !~truman~!~The Truman Show (1998)~! and @%Pleasantville (1998)%@ as an influence on the show. In order to preserve the authenticity of the '50s era sitcom vibes the show was trying to capture, Bettany was painted blue for the scenes shot in black and white, rather than maroon, because blue looked better in grayscale. Agent Jimmy Woo produces his identification with a flick of the wrist, the card appearing in his hand as if by magic. This is a reference to the character's first appearance in !~antman_wasp~!~Ant-Man and the Wasp (2018)~! where he is shown to be instantly fascinated by `~14026~`'s mastery of close-up magic, but completely unable to do any tricks himself. SPOILER:At one point, the theater marquee is advertising for !~oz_great_powerful~!~Oz the Great and Powerful (2013)~!. This is both a nod to the ^~wizard_oz~^~Wizard of Oz~^ series and a nod to its director `~5563~`. Raimi is also the director of the upcoming MCU film @%Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness (2022)%@, which will also feature `~14819~` as Wanda Maximoff.:SPOILER SPOILER:While many believe that Ralph Bohner is Jimmy Woo's witness in the Witness Protection Program, the director of ^~wandavision~^~WandaVision~^ has said that the identity of the witness is yet to be revealed.:SPOILER
