Edit cast list for:
Top Secret! (1984)?
Trivia:
When Nick Rivers is in jail, a head shot of `~Cher~` can be clearly seen on the wall of the cell several times. `~1718~` was dating `~Cher~` at the time. Even though it has been pointed out that the "German" phrases Nick was learning on the train were basically gibberish, the translations for those phrases include, "I want a schnauzer with my weinerschnitzel," and, "There is sauerkraut in my lederhosen." The idea of skeet surfing came out of the Zucker brothers trying to outdo each other at press junkets. They would specifically concoct outlandish stories to amuse themselves and bewilder journalists. The black conductor calling for tickets in ostensible German is actually reciting the old Yiddish saying, "May you grow like an onion, with the head in the ground." `~1718~`'s first feature film. The film had a budget of $8 million and came in a million under. The scene in which `~4210~` looks down from the balcony onto the street to see hamsters and mice was in fact a miniature from !~th_super_1~!~Superman~!. The Zucker Brothers (`~477~` and `~476~`) and `~478~` stated in their DVD commentary that they found it in the old Shepperton studios and thought it would be a great idea to use it somewhere in the movie. After receiving an order, one of the German officers replies with, "Ich liebe Dich, mein Schatz," which translates to "I love you, honey." The "Latin" spoken by the priest at Fleurgendorf Prison on the way to the execution room is just random phrases, borrowed partly from the religious, medical and legal professions, with various other words and names thrown in (`~Rick Dureus~`, `~Patty Passeu~`). At one point, he also says in Pig Latin: "Ooreyay oingay ootay etgay iedfray in the airchay," which translates, "You're going to get fried in the chair."
