`~John Doe~`
Edit cast list for:
The Muppets (2011)?
Trivia:
The first of The Muppets' productions to win an Oscar. `~8376~` won Best Original Song for "Man or Muppet". Due to limited space for the puppeteers, for the scene where the car is full of The Muppets after picking them all up, `~9469~` and `~14738~` were asked to operate the Muppets on either side of them. The first theatrical Muppet film that `~4720~` wasn't involved with. Oz performed and voiced Miss Piggy, 'Fozzie Bear', Animal, Sam The Eagle, Marvin Suggs amongst other Muppets in all the TV shows and all the movies until 2000. `~7572~` has since taken over Oz's official !~mup_show~!~The Muppet Show~! characters. The role of Tex Richman was actually written for `~4854~`. After finishing the movie, the filmmakers gave `~14738~` the Muppet version of himself to keep. Shortly before the DVD release `~Courtney Love~`, the widow of `~Kurt Cobain~`, gave an interview in which she accused The Muppets of "raping Cobain's legacy" by covering Nirvana's song "Smells Like Teen Spirit" as a barbershop quartet and that the filmmakers never received her permission. Surviving Nirvana members `~Krist Novoselic~` and `~14867~` (who also has a cameo in the film as Animool) both loved the rendition of their song but refused to say anything about Love's statements. SPOILER:`~14866~` (Human Walter) is the only actor whose cameo appearance was never announced or rumored. Parsons was asked to not publicly talk about his scene and agreed to, but the filmmakers confirmed his appearance in the film (while not specifically saying he was playing the human form of Walter the Muppet) after Parsons' role information appeared on the Internet Movie Database. He appeared with (human) star `~14738~`, thus teaming up the stars from two of CBS' sitcoms: @##How I Met Your Mother##@ (Segel) and @##The Big Bang Theory##@ (Parsons).:SPOILER The filmmakers decided to use only old-style techniques for all the Muppet effects, such as remote control and battery operated puppets rather than computer animation in order to keep with the original style and charm of The Muppets. `~4720~` was originally set to direct, but left the project because he was unhappy with the script. An appearance by Elmo of @##Sesame Street##@ was planned for a scene where lawyers would have nixed an attempt by the Muppets to have him host their show. According to `~14738~`, the cameo itself was forbidden by lawyers. Sesame Street Muppets had previously made cameos in !~mup_show~!~The Muppet Show~!, !~mup_mov~!~The Muppet Movie~!, !~mup_caper~!~The Great Muppet Caper~!, !~mup_manhattan~!~The Muppets Take Manhattan~! and various specials, but have not done so since the purchase of the Muppets characters by Disney in 2004. During an interview with `~Terry Gross~` on her National Public Radio program @%Fresh Air%@, `~14738~` said that during filming, he observed the choreographer, `~14868~`, giving instructions to the classic movie star `~2156~` (who had a cameo in the movie) and calling him "Dad." Segel went up to Michael and reprimanded him, saying "you can't just call any old man 'Dad,'" and Michael told Segel, "no, he's my actual Dad." `~4727~`'s original signature character, Rizzo the Rat appears very briefly in the finale of the film. This is the smallest part the character has ever had since his first film appearance in !~mup_caper~!~The Great Muppet Caper~!. A picture of `~4721~` appears on a poster outside of the Muppet Theater, and a picture of him with Kermit the Frog appears on the wall in Kermit's old office.
