Edit cast list for:
The Muppet Show: Season 2 (1977)?
Trivia:
The Swedish Chef was a favorite of `~4721~` and `~4720~`, as they both got to perform him. Henson was the head and voice, while Oz provided the hands. Frequently, one of the two would ad lib a line or bit of business, forcing the other one to keep up. `~15535~` died before his episode aired making it his last television performance. The `~5379~` episode featured "auditions" of new acts for the show. It was actually a dumping ground for all of the ideas that hadn't quite formed into coherent scenes. Since there was no "audience", the laugh track wasn't used. Instead, the producers had a few stagehands provide the laughter. Because there is no audience track in this episode, it is thus the only episode in which the closing theme is audible for its entirety; in all other episodes the closing theme is obscured by canned applause and audience laughter. The `~1473~` episode is the first episode in which `~6260~` performs Janice. He would become her regular performer until his death in 1992. Featuring `~9101~` as the guest star opens with Timmy, a Muppet monster, hitting Berle in the face with a giant powder puff, while shouting, "Makeup!" This was an often-repeated gag on Berle's first TV show, @##Texaco Star Theatre##@. Beaker makes his debut in the `~15535~` episode. `~9110~`, born January 20, 1896, was the series' earliest-born guest star. `~Seņor Wences~`, born April 17, 1896, was the oldest guest star at the time of his appearance; he was 84 when he guest-starred in 1980. Fourteen-year-old `~9142~` was the series' youngest guest star. Kermit is the only Muppet character to be a regular staple on both this series and @##Sesame Street##@. The flamboyant costumes and mannerisms of Dr. Teeth were modeled after New Orleans jazz musician, `~Dr. John~`. An episode was usually filmed in three days. Floyd Pepper's name combined the name of the rock band Pink Floyd with the title of `~14177~`'s Sgt. Pepper album. Reflecting this was Floyd's pink color. His outfit and mustache were similar to those of `~14177~` in their Lonely Hearts Club Band persona. Three guest stars lived to be 100 years old. `~9110~` died March 9, 1996 at the age of 100. `~Seņor Wences~` died on April 20, 1999 at the age of 103. `~9102~` died on July 27, 2003 at the age of 100. Guest stars were allowed to appear on the show only once and never appeared a second time. Because they found the character so funny, extraneous members of the crew would often crowd into the studio to watch filming of skits with the Swedish Chef. Often, the laughter heard in the final sketch is not from a laugh track, but from members of the crew who couldn't contain themselves.
