Reaction:
Charming. Quite different from the 1977 original, but still enjoyable.

Trivia:
World renown violinist, singer, composer, dancer, and performance artist `~16162~` marks her film debut as one of the film's composers. This film is rated PG but the original !~pete_dragon~!~Pete's Dragon~! is rated G. Features four actors that have been in Marvel Comics movies. The first being `~2414~` as Skurge in @%Thor: Ragnarok%@. The second `~6043~` as Blackheart in !~ghost_rider~!~Ghost Rider~!. The third is `~11068~` as Alexander Pierce in !~cap_amer_2~!~Captain America: The Winter Soldier~!. The fourth `~1464~` as Gwen Stacy in !~spider_3~!~Spider-Man 3~!. Director `~16159~` is married to `~16170~`, who plays Mrs. Swanberg in this film. This is their second collaboration on a feature film. The kids listen to vinyl records, and the nurses are wearing old-fashioned white nurse caps. These along with the cars and no cell phones indicates this is not set in twenty-first century. Pete spends about 85% of the movie barefoot, both in town and in the woods. `~2414~` replaced `~Michael C. Hall~` as Gavin, while `~6043~` replaced `~9597~` as Jack. `~16174~`, who plays Young Pete in the prologue, and `~16173~`, who plays his father, are actually related. They are first cousins, once removed. `~11068~` rescued an abandoned horse on the second day of shooting. Director `~16159~` explained why Elliott is a furry dragon in an IGN article, saying that he'd rather have "the kind of dragon you really want to give a hug to" than a @##Game of Thrones##@ type dragon, which he described as "cool, but scaly and cold".
