Synopsis:
Strung-out junkie deals with daily demoralizing drug addiction while crippled wife and card sharks continue to pull him down.
Reaction:
It's a bit odd to see Sinatra strung out and jonesing for a for a fix, but the movie's well made and intriguing.

Trivia:
SPOILER:In the original novel, Frankie is gunned down by the police. This was changed for the movie and, in fact, the movie plot is very different from that of the original novel.:SPOILER In a conversation with `~Robert Osborne~`, `~8519~` Jr.~` said the hands in the tight shots of Frankie's second dealing belong to `~9101~`. A poster for director `~6645~`'s @%Carmen Jones%@ is prominently featured on the building across the street from the saloon during the opening scene. `~8519~` is mentioned twice in `~8518~`'s 1949 novel on which the film is based. `~8362~` was offered the role of Frankie Machine, but `~8519~` jumped at the opportunity and was signed before Brando could accept. The movie's poster was as #14 of @#The 25 Best Movie Posters Ever#@ by @##Premiere##@.
