Synopsis:
A duke usurps his brother's land and power, banishing him and his retinue into the forest of Arden. The banished duke's daughter, Rosalind, remains with her cousin Celia.
Reaction:
Well made production, but you need to be able to follow and understand the Shakespearean dialog, so I admit it may not be for everyone.

Trivia:
The first film of `~726~`. Last on-screen appearance of `~1534~`. `~1537~` trained with professional wrestlers for the wrestling scenes and did his filming during the day while he was playing on stage in @%Romeo and Juliet%@ at night. The movie script omits about one-third of the play, but added nothing on its own. The play was an adaptation of the 1590 novel @%Rosalynde, Euphues' Golden Legacie%@, by `~Thomas Lodge~`, who has been credited with giving `~1531~` the title for his play. Little is known about the first performance (ca 1599), but tradition has it that `~1531~` himself had the part of "Adam". The play was rarely performed thereafter for more than 100 years. `~1535~` played "Rosalind" in Germany but left in 1933 when `~4624~` came to power. She said she would not play the role in English until she perfected her English accent. However, many reviewers complained that her German accent was still very prominent. This was the first onscreen appearance by `~1537~` in a Shakespearean work.
