Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter [1984]
  • After Jason actor Ted White finished his scenes for this film he went right on to film the movie, Starman. While on set for the nights filming a bunch of reporters were waiting to interview Jeff Bridges but he was unavailable, so Director John Carpenter told the reporters to talk to Ted White about the film he just finished. After telling the reporters that he had just finished playing Jason in the new [Friday the 13th] film, the next day's article was all about him, and that night numerous fans showed up to the set to see the actor that played Jason.
    King Kong [1976]
  • The tabloids speculated at the time that Jeff Bridges and Jessica Lange had an on-set affair. It was later revealed to be false, both stars were happily married, and have been friends since making this film.
    Starman [1984]
  • The only John Carpenter film to have an Academy Award nomination (Jeff Bridges).
  • When Jeff Bridges walks outside the house naked and uses a 'marble' his hair seems to stand on end. This effect was actually created by shooting Bridges hanging upside-down and then matting the shot onto the background the right way up to give him a surreal look.
    Total Recall [1990]
  • Jeff Bridges, Matthew Broderick and Richard Dreyfuss were each considered for the role of Quaid. Christopher Reeve was offered the role but turned it down. Patrick Swayze was signed to play Quaid when the movie began preproduction in Australia with [?] Bruce Beresford as the director. However, early in preproduction, [?] Dino De Laurentiis' company went bankrupt. After Arnold Schwarzenegger heard about this, he persuaded Carolco to buy the script for him.
    TRON: Legacy [2010]
  • Jeff Bridges (Kevin Flynn / Clu) and Bruce Boxleitner (Alan Bradley / Tron) are the only actors to appear in both TRON and TRON: Legacy.
  • To play the computer program CLU, Jeff Bridges' face was "de-aged" with the same technology used on The Curious Case of Benjamin Button to "age" Brad Pitt. Thus, in his role as Flynn, Bridges appears to be his actual age of 61, but as CLU (a program written back in the 1980s) he looks like he's in his 30s - programs don't age. In order to retro-age Bridges to a 35-year-old, the actor had to wear a special helmet fitted with 4 strategically placed cameras enabling every textural nuance of his facial expressions to be recorded for precision synthesis during digital processing. In an interview, Bridges noted that as he was being scanned by laser into a computer (for CGI effects), he realized the same thing happened to him (fictionally) in the original TRON.
    R.I.P.D. [2013]
  • The finance convention scene was filmed at the Hynes Convention Center, which is half a mile from Copley Square -- the place where Jeff Bridges was nearly killed in real-life during the bomb truck explosion scene of Blown Away.
  • In a Reddit AMA discussion, Jeff Bridges said that he enjoyed making the movie with the cast and crew, but attributed its failure to studio interference. Bridges said, "The suits just cut it against the grain, and, I thought, screwed it up." He described the film as "underwhelming".
  • This movie has been compared to Men in Black, in that they both deal with secret government agencies contending with otherworldly beings. Jeff Bridges is playing the same kind of character that his good friend and Blown Away co-star Tommy Lee Jones played in the [Men In Black] trilogy.
  • Jeff Bridges and Stephanie Szostak, who play likeable characters in this movie, played villainous characters in Marvel's [Iron Man] movies, which are also comic book-based. Bridges played Obadiah Stane in Iron Man, and Szostak played Ellen Brandt in Iron Man 3.
  • Jeff Bridges has an extensive display of his doodles on his website. In the first scene at R.I.P.D. Boston, his doodle of Proctor is on the clipboard that he throws on the desk.
