Trivia that mentions this person:
Star Trek [2009]
  • Composer Michael Giacchino decided to use the original [Star Trek] theme by Alexander Courage for the end credits, which director J.J. Abrams said symbolized the momentum of the crew coming together.
    Doctor Strange [2016]
  • Each "Doctor Strange" feature has starred a [Star Trek] actor:
    • Michael Ansara, who was the Klingon Kang in [Star Trek], voiced the Ancient One (in an uncredited role) in the 1978 Dr. Strange.
    • Jeffrey Combs, who has played various [Star Trek] roles, was Doctor Strange in 1992's Doctor Mordrid (a version with names changed).
    • George Takei, who was Hikaru Sulu in [Star Trek], was Wong in 1996's Spider-Man: Sins of the Fathers Chapter 1: Doctor Strange.
    • [?] Paul Nakauchi appeared in [Star Trek: Deep Space Nine]: {The Homecoming} and was Wong in 2007's Doctor Strange.
    • Kevin Michael Richardson, who voiced several aliens in Star Trek Into Darkness, was Baron Mordo in the 2007 Doctor Strange film.
    • Benedict Cumberbatch, who was Khan Noonien Singh in Star Trek Into Darkness, stars in this film as Dr Strange.
    • Although not an actor, Michael Giacchino composed the soundtracks for Doctor Strange and the three [Star Trek] reboot movies.
Rogue One: A Star Wars Story [2016]
  • Michael Giacchino composed the music for this film. He has composed every film directed by J.J. Abrams except, ironically, Star Wars: The Force Awakens.
Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens [2015]
  • The first J.J. Abrams film not to have a musical score by Michael Giacchino. Aptly enough, Giacchino stated in an interview that he would rather hear the music of John Williams in a new [Star Wars] film than his own. Giacchino's name shows up in episode VII's credits as a stormtrooper.
    Cloverfield [2008]
  • The only "score" composition for this film is an instrumental piece by Michael Giacchino played over the end credits, titled {"Roar! (Cloverfield Overture)"}. This composition was intended to evoke the score of classic monster movies (specifically the original Godzilla theme). Roar! was not included on the soundtrack CD (which was packaged as a mix CD of music from Rob's surprise party), and as of 2011 has not been officially released on CD, but it was included when the soundtrack collection was later released on iTunes.
