Trivia that mentions this person:
Jason Bourne [2016]
  • Matt Damon and Julia Stiles are the only actor and actress from the original trilogy to reprise their roles as Jason Bourne and Nicky Parsons, respectively. While David Strathairn, Joan Allen, and Edward Norton's characters are still living when we last see them, they are never spoken of, or referenced.
    The Bourne Legacy [2012]
  • Excluding archive footage from previous films, Joan Allen, Scott Glenn, Albert Finney, and David Strathairn appear in only one scene each.
    A Midsummer Night's Dream [1999]
  • The cast features three Oscar-winners (Kevin Kline, Sam Rockwell and Christian Bale) and three nominees (Michelle Pfeiffer, Stanley Tucci and David Strathairn).
Godzilla: King of the Monsters [2019]
  • Ken Watanabe (Dr. Ishiro Serizawa), Sally Hawkins (Dr. Vivienne Graham) and David Strathairn (Admiral William Stenz) are the only cast members from Godzilla (2014) to return for this film, and out of the three only two die, Serizawa and Graham
    Sneakers [1992]
  • While picking through Dr. Brandes' (Stephen Tobolowsky's) trash, Mother (Dan Aykroyd) holds up a folded box of "Cap'n Crunch". In the 1970s, "Cap'n Crunch" came with a small whistle in the box. A "phone phreaker" called "Captain Crunch" ([?] John Draper) discovered that this whistle could be used to get free phone calls (one of many components in the practice of "phone phreaking", which digital phone switching-systems has made almost totally obsolete). There is another reference to Draper during the Scrabble game (the word "CRUNCH" is visible upside down before it gets turned into SCRUNCHY). Also, Cosmo (Sir Ben Kingsley) tells Martin (Robert Redford) that, while in prison, he helped some Mafia men to make some "free telephone calls." Whistler (David Strathairn) is patterned after [?] Joe Engressia, a blind telephone expert born with perfect pitch who was one of the original phone phreakers.
  • The 7 major characters of the movie (Robert Redford, Sidney Poitier, Ben Kingsley, Dan Aykroyd, Mary McDonnell, River Phoenix, and David Strathairn) are all either Oscar Winners or Oscar Nominees. Robert Redford, Sidney Poitier and Ben Kingsley are Oscar recipients. The others are all nominees. James Earl Jones is also an Oscar Nominee.
