Trivia that mentions this person:
Austin Powers in Goldmember [2002]
  • Heather Graham reprised her role as Felicity Shagwell in a scene that was ultimately cut. Will Ferrell reprised his role of Mustafa in another deleted scene in which he has to answer a question after being asked four times.
    Elf [2003]
  • Buddy's 12-second belch was supplied by voice actor Maurice LaMarche, best-known for his cartoon character, "The Brain", from [Pinky and the Brain], and who also did the operatic belching in [Animaniacs] as "The Great Wakarotti". LaMarche also worked with Will Ferrell on the animated series, [The Oblongs...].
The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy [2005]
  • Bill Murray was also considered for the part of Zaphod Beeblebrox, along with Will Ferrell and Robert Downey Jr., but after Sam Rockwell's audition, director Garth Jennings immediately chose him.
Naked Gun 33 1/3: The Final Insult [1994]
  • Cameo: [Will Ferrell] The man chasing his lawnmower in the first scene.
    Megamind [2010]
  • To promote the film, Will Ferrell assembled 1,580 of his friends and their acquaintances at a superhero costume function. This party set a Guinness World Record for the largest gathering of superheroes.
  • At the end when MJ's track 'Bad' was playing & Hal was dancing along it, the Warden was seen to play along with two of his guards. Their 'head shaking step' was taken from Saturday night live's "what is love" skit, which also starred Will Ferrell.
    The LEGO Movie [2014]
  • Similarities to the The Matrix abound. Both Emmet and Neo live in a world which is a construct of another outside entity. Both Emmet and Neo are chosen as "the one". Both "die" and have a rebirth. Neo dies at the end of the Matrix and is brought back, able to see the Matrix for what it is. Emmet plummets into the human world. He is dropped back into his Lego world by a human child. Upon his return, he proclaims "I can see everything" with the ability to see part numbers to all Lego pieces, much like Neo could see the Matrix. Even the Micro Managers in Lego movie look very similar to the giant robots found in the human harvesting fields in the "real world" of the Matrix. Also Vitruvius' fight with the robots shortly before he dies is similar to Neo's fight with Agent Smith in The Matrix Reloaded. Furthermore, Will Ferrell's role of The Man Upstairs in this movie is very similar to his role of The Architect in {MTV: Reloaded}, a spoof of The Matrix Reloaded.
Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me [1999]
  • When Dr. Evil throws the 'Mojo' in the air and both Austin Powers run towards it, all voices are done in slow-motion and the voice of Felicity is spoken by Will Ferrell, shouting Watch Out before both Austin's bump into each other.
