Trivia that mentions this person:
Iron Man 2 [2010]
  • Emily Blunt was set to star as Black Widow but had to pull out due scheduling conflicts with her movie Gulliver's Travels.Jessica Biel, Gemma Arterton, Natalie Portman, Jessica Alba and Angelina Jolie were considered for the role of the Black Widow. Eliza Dushku actively campaigned for the role. Alba had played Susan Storm in the Fantastic Four" series, and Portman later played Jane Foster in Thor.
    Ocean's Thirteen [2007]
  • Towards the end of the film, when Rusty and Danny are in the airport, they each mock each other. Rusty tells Danny to try and keep the weight off in between jobs next time. This is a reference to George Clooney, who put on extra weight for his role in Syriana and in turn injured his back doing some stunts. Danny tells Rusty, "Settle down and have a couple of kids," which is a reference to Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie's relationship and children.
Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow [2004]
  • Angelina Jolie's part only took three days to shoot.
    Lara Croft: Tomb Raider [2001]
  • Angelina Jolie trained for 6 months to get in shape for the film. She had lessons in yoga and kickboxing to prepare for the role. She also learned how to handle guns and other weapons. She received weapons training from an instructor of the SAS, the United Kingdom's elite special forces, to prepare herself for the role.
  • Angelina Jolie did her own Bungee-Ballet, and according to an interview with her on [The Jay Leno Show], injured her ankle on the first take when landing on top of a chandelier went bad, so that part of the scene had to be done over again after she recovered.
  • At the time of filming, Angelina Jolie sported a large tattoo on her upper left arm. Make-up was used to cover the tattoo, but one can see where the tattoo has been covered up on several scenes.
  • Lara Croft's father is played by Angelina Jolie's real life father, actor Jon Voight.
  • Filming the scenes where Lara drives her Land Rover through the jungle there had to be endless re-shoots due to snakes and other wildlife falling through the open top roof. Angelina Jolie herself was reported to be terrified.
  • In the video game, Lara Croft is a 36DD. Angelina Jolie is naturally a 36C, and was padded to a 36D for the movie, as it was felt that padding to the original character size would be too unrealistic.
  • Lara Croft is English and Alex West is American. However, the actress Angelina Jolie who plays Croft is American and Daniel Craig, the actor who plays West, is English. Daniel Craig would eventually go on to play James Bond. The James Bond films was one of the influences behind the Tomb Raider video games, which the film is based on. The gun that Daniel Craig uses in the Tomb of the Dancing Light is a Walther P99 pistol, the signature weapon of James Bond. He later wielded this weapon again as 007 in Casino Royale.
Lara Croft Tomb Raider: The Cradle of Life [2003]
  • One of Angelina Jolie's stunt doubles was a man. In the scene where Lara Croft and partner jump off a building wearing "flying suits", called wingsuits, the stunt was performed by the two men who developed the suits. No CGI, wires, nets, or other SFX were involved. This suit was invented by [?] Patrick de Gayardon, who died in a parachute accident in April 1998 while testing a new type of parachute in Hawaii.
  • The skin on Lara's upper left arm is rarely seen exposed in this film. Angelina Jolie sports a large tattoo on her upper left bicep which requires make-up to cover up. The fact her left arm is rarely bared in this film (her opening scene in a bikini is shot in such a way her RIGHT arm, not her left, dominates) may be due to criticism that the tattoo was sometimes poorly concealed in Lara Croft: Tomb Raider.
  • Angelina Jolie is the only actor/actress in the movie to be American-born.
  • At the time of the film's release, Angelina Jolie said she had no desire to play the character a third time. Nonetheless, some planning for a third feature was undertaken until early 2004 when the studio announced plans for another Lara Croft film starring Jolie had been cancelled.
  • Angelina Jolie stated in an interview that she kept Lara's holsters and has them at home.
  • [?] Robson Green read for this film. Max Ryan screen-tested for the role of Terry Sheridan. [?] Kelly Brook was rumored to be in talks to replaces Angelina Jolie as Lara Croft.
  • In Lara Croft: Tomb Raider, Angelina Jolie had to wear bra padding in order for her bust size to measure closer to the videogame character's. Jolie wears considerably less (and possibly no) padding in this film, as the decision was made to give Lara more realistic dimensions.
    Prometheus [2012]
  • Gemma Arterton, Carey Mulligan, Olivia Wilde, Anne Hathaway, Abbie Cornish and Natalie Portman were considered for the role of Elizabeth Shaw. While Michelle Yeoh and Angelina Jolie were originally considered for the role of Meredith Vickers, and James Franco was considered for the role of Holloway. Ben Foster was rumored for a role.

  • Kate Beckinsale, Sandra Bullock, Mischa Barton, Rachel Bilson, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Angelina Jolie, Jessica Biel, Eva Green, Christina Hendricks, Kristen Stewart, Olga Kurylenko and Elodie Yung were considered to play the role of Wonder Woman throughout the years. After being considered for Diana, Eva Green was later for the role of Doctor Poison. In 2005, Angelina Jolie was offered the chance to play the lead role, but she declined. In 2015, she was considered to direct it. Cobie Smulders was briefly considered for the role of Wonder Woman. Smulders went on to voice the character in the The Lego Movie and also appears in the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Agent Maria Hill.
    X-Men: Dark Phoenix [2019]
  • The role of Vuk was first offered to Angelina Jolie who passed on it before Jessica Chastain accepted it. Jolie passed on the role because she was more interested in playing the titular character in Bill Condon's Bride of Frankenstein project before Universal decided to put it on hold. Interestingly, they were the only names considered by the studio, and both were suggested by James McAvoy due to his working relationship with them. To return the favor, Chastain recommended McAvoy to her friend, producer [?] Barbara Muschietti, and her brother, It: Chapter Two (2019) director Andy Muschietti, for the lead role of the Losers' Club Bill Denbrough.
    Corpse Bride [2005]
  • Jim Carrey & Angelina Jolie were considered to voice the lead two characters in the film respectively, victor van dort & the title character in the film.
